Our current location of the MHCG on Butterfield is owned by the City of Morgan Hill. They have plans to build a fire station on the site sometime in the future. We are allowed to continue at this location until the City decides that we have to go. In the meantime, a parcel of land owned by the City has been set aside as a future site for the MHCG. It is roughly three acres near Railroad Ave. and the new Butterfield overpass (see photo below).
What makes this an exciting development, is a grant from the Open Space Authority and a matching donation from the City to construct a top notch garden. We will have room to expand and do much more in way of classes, social events, and community outreach. The project has an excellent architect, Lesley Miles, who designed the Granary and more buildings in Morgan Hill. She has come up with a preliminary plan (see drawings). News on the progress will be posted as things move along.
